Ilfracombe pancake race 2009

Well done to Ilfracombe High Street Traders for reviving the annual pancake race and, miraculously, having the High Street closed so the pancake tossers could run down the middle of the road.

I paid a hurried visit to support the event, which was well-attended by children from the town’s schools, Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration and the High Street traders themselves.

I took a few snaps from the side, but I’m sure the Journal photographer will have got better ones with all the details of the teams . . .

And to round the day off we had pancakes for tea!
